1. What are the differences between the VoxBox service and my current phone line?
You will not notice many differences between VoxBox and your traditional phone line. VoxBox has a similar set of features and works with any a standard telephone. What you will immediately notice is the difference in pricing. We are much less expensive than the traditional service! You will be able to keep your current number with you even if you move to a different part of the city, country or continent! Anyone dialing your Vancouver number will ring your adapter no-matter where the adapter is in the world (as long as it's connected to a high-speed Internet connection.)

2. What do I need to have to use the VoxBox service?
You only need high speed internet access and a VoxBox adapter.

3. What types of High Speed Internet will work with the VoxBox service?
works with any high speed internet connection including Cable or ADSL. We require an "always active" Internet connection so Dial-Up Internet will not work with the VoxBox service.

VoxBox does not need a computer to work so you don't even need to own a computer!

5. Can I keep or transfer my current number?
The answer is.maybe. Currently not all telephone numbers are portable but many are. If you live in an area where the numbers are able to be transferred, we can link your telephone number to your VoxBox adapter. There is a $10 service charge for the transfer. Please contact a VoxBox Customer Service Representative if you are interested in transferring your number.

7. How long does it take to get my VoxBox service working?

8. What happens if I move or want to travel with my VoxBox service
You simply unplug your VoxBox adapter and take it with you. When you reach your destination simply plug it into a high-speed Internet connection and use your VoxBox service just as you would at home! Anyone calling your number will reach you at your new destination.

9. Can I make long-distance calls on my VoxBox phone line?

12. Is there a difference between making a local call and a long distance call?
You will have to pay long distance charges for a long distance call to a number outside your calling area, similar to existing, traditional wired telephone service.

13. How can I place a VoxBox Phone Call?
Just pick up your phone connected to your VoxBox adaptor and make your call. The call is routed through our network to the local telephone company for the person you are calling - no-matter where that local telephone company is located in the world.

14. If I have the VoxBox service, who can I call?
You are able to call any phone number, anywhere in the world. The call can be made to a local number, a mobile phone, to a long distance number, or an international number. You may even utilize the service to speak with more than one person at a time. The person you are calling does not need any special equipment, just a telephone.

There is no setup fee with VoxBox.

16. Is there a warranty time for the Gateway box? What is it?
Yes, the warranty is a one-year manufacturer's flaw warranty. That means we will replace the box if it doesn't work properly. We will not replace the box due to damage on the client's part.

No. There is no long distance charge. No matter where the boxes are located you can talk without incurring any long distance fees.

22. My phone works 100% of the time with my current provider. Is VoxBox service as reliable?
What percent of time can you guarantee that it will work? Like any communications device we cannot guarantee perfection. From the lab tests and performance on the network as reported by clients and test boxes, we currently estimate the reliability at a definite 90 percent. Please note that we have confirmed that this is a low figure but we want to make sure that we err on the side of caution.

Yes. You can have as many phones as you like. The easiest way to accomplish this is to have a cordless phone system that supports multiple handsets.

It may be that you need to renew your IP because your ISP renewed it. Do a release and renew on your IP and it should work.

1. When and how do I get billed?
When you first sign-up for service you will be billed a pro-rated amount for the remainder of the month in which you sign up along with the next full month. After the initial period you will be billed once a month, on the first day of each month.
The credit card (VISA or MasterCard) that you gave when you signed-up will be charged automatically each month. You can change this card at any time by logging into your account online at http://user.myvoxbox.com
